The first map of the Hades VI campaign takes some time to develop it's backstory via some very original cut scenes that are coupled with extensive dialogue between our protagonist and the ship's AI 'Vader'. The first 3/4 of the map is front-loaded with the story telling aspect, while the final part of the map throws some action at the player in the way of several demon waves.

The map is cleverly crafted with custom geo and props to promote the feel of a starship, however it still has the feel and look of a base on the planet with wide open hallways and high ceilings.

Amnu's style of placing minimal, but respawning ammo, health and armor in the map is present in the map. I actually prefer this setup over demons that cough up ammo/health when they die. It keeps the player conscious of their vitals and forces them to move around the combat area to be successful.

Overall, the map is a slow-starter but is a very solid map with good visuals, a very strong backstory and has a cinematic touch.
